ABOUT RYAN

Ryan Rose began as a professional horse trainer and clinician in May 2005. Ryan soon realized that in order to have success as a horse trainer and clinician, he needed to become a horseman. Ryan has studied with many top world-class horseman, spending four years with Pat Parelli.

Ryan now teaches workshops and clinics all over the world as well as running a comprehensive training program at his home in Wisconsin. Ryan’s passion is in creating partnerships between horses and their owners.

His skills in horse development and his teaching set him apart. He also enjoys competing and training horses in ranch versatility.

CLINIC FORMAT

This 3-day clinic offers a unique opportunity to select workshops based on you and your horse’s specific needs, highlighting some of Ryan’s favorite teaching subjects.

Each workshop will be limited to 8 horses and will last about 3.5 hours, including a introduction in the beginning and question/answer session at the end.

SHAPING BEHAVIORS ON THE GROUND: APPLYING PRESSURE AND FINDING THE RELEASE
Interactive instruction in a large group setting with 8 participants and their horses. Learn how to achieve better communication and foundation on the ground to build tasks such as trailer loading, obstacle work and trick training.  Cost $150

Friday Afternoon Workshop
THE MECHANICS OF HORSEMANSHIP:
ADVANCED MANEUVERS IN THE SADDLE
Interactive instruction in a large group setting with 8 participants and their horses. Learn how to achieve better communication in the saddle as well as learn how to shape advanced western maneuvers such as rollbacks, spins, half-passes, slide stops and more.  Cost $150

Saturday Morning Workshop
GET UP AND GO:  STRATEGIES FOR MOTIVATING AND SENSITIZING LAZY HORSES
Interactive instruction in a large group setting with 8 participants and their horses. Learn how to motivate the lazy horse and get the gas pedal working to make your ride more enjoyable and fun.  Cost $150

Saturday Afternoon Workshop
HAVE GO?  NEED WHOA?  STRATEGIES FOR CALMING THE FEARFUL OR OVERREACTIVE HORSE
Interactive instruction in a large group setting with 8 participants and their horses. Learn how to unwind the anxious horse and develop the leadership skills you need to redirect problem behaviors and start enjoying your ride on a confident, manageable horse.  Cost $150

Sunday Morning Workshop
NO STRINGS ATTACHED: ADVANCED LIBERTY WORK
Interactive instruction in a large group setting with 8 participants and their horses. Learn how to help your horse find the balance between freedom and responsibility with work at liberty. Take your horsemanship to the next level by increasing your feel, timing and creativity.  Cost $150

Sunday Afternoon Workshop
LET IT GO: BRIDLELESS RIDING TO ADVANCE YOUR HORSEMANSHIP
Interactive instruction in a large group setting with 8 participants and their horses. Learn how to advance your horsemanship by relying on your seat, legs, feel and timing for the ultimate in communication with your horse. Cost $150

NOTICE TO PARTICIPANTS

Auditing is included on the day of your workshop, but additional auditing will need to be purchased if you would like to audit on other days.  Auditor fees are $30 per day.  All participants are required to sign a Windfall Equestrian Center Equine Activity Release and Liability Waiver as well as a Liability Release Agreement for Rose Horsemanship.  Participants under the age of 18 are required to have these agreements signed by a parent or legal guardian before participating in this clinic.  PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR CERTIFIED FOR EQUESTRIAN USE BY THE ASTM AND SEI AT ALL TIMES WHILE MOUNTED.

AUDITORS

Auditors are welcome to ask questions and participate in any unmounted simulations and exercises.  Auditor fees are $30 per day or $75 for the weekend.  Chairs are provided, and space is limited.  All auditors are required to sign a Windfall Equestrian Center Equine Activity Release and Liability Waiver as well as a Liability Release Agreement for Rose Horsemanship.  Auditors under the age of 18 are required to have these agreements signed by a parent or legal guardian before participating in this clinic.

PARKING

Parking is limited, and spaces will be prioritized for handicapped access and horse trailer parking.  In the event that weather conditions limit parking further, we will have an alternative parking area off-site with shuttle service to and from your vehicle.  It is important that you check your email for clinic parking and information updates in the days prior to the clinic for updated parking information.

CAMPING/HOTELS

Camping hookups are not available for this clinic.  However, there are several options for hotel stay near the clinic venue.

STABLING

Stabling is available on a very limited basis. Stalls are 12 x 12 and contain two water buckets and a feed bucket.  Shavings are provided, with additional shavings available at $7.00 per bag.  You are also welcome to provide your own if you would like.  Stalls are $30 per night or $100 for the weekend.  A deposit of $50 must accompany every stall rental, to be returned after the stall has been cleaned at the end of your stay.   Timothy/Bermuda grass hay is also available for purchase at $7.00 per bale.  Stable area has 3 water sources with hoses provided to easily access filling your water buckets.  The stable area is heated to 50 degrees F.  All horses entering the premises must provide Windfall Equestrian Center with a copy of a current (within 12 months) Coggins (Equine Infectious Anemia) test as well as proof of current (within 6 months) Equine Influenza and Rhinopneumonitis vaccination.  Horses traveling from out-of-state are not required by Windfall Equestrian Center to present a health certificate.

ARENA

The clinic arena is a 80 x 160 heated indoor riding arena with dust-free sand footing and a seating area for auditors.  The arena is heated to 50 degrees F.

AMENITIES

The stable includes a lounge overlooking the indoor arena, where snacks and beverages will be provided throughout the day.  There is a single restroom inside the barn as well as a shower.

PARTICIPANTS’ DINNER

Workshop participants are welcome to stay for the Participants’ Dinner on Friday and Saturday evening, beginning at 6:00 pm.  Auditors are also welcome to attend if they have purchased a VIP pass for an additional $30.  Anyone with food allergies should disclose that on your auditor sign-up form so that we can make other arrangements.

CANCELLATION POLICY

All sales are final and are not refundable.   However, in the event the clinic has to be cancelled due to inclement weather or other emergency, all rider and auditor deposits and payments will be refunded via check within 30 days of the event’s cancellation date.  Windfall Equestrian Center reserves the right to refuse any person or horse into this clinic for any reason, including horses with suspected injury or illness, or people who are unwilling or unable to comply with Windfall Equestrian Center’s Stable Rules and Policies.
